Known as the Apostle of Ireland, Saint Patrick is the primary patron saint of Ireland. Saint Patrick's Day, or the Feast of Saint Patrick is a cultural and religious celebration occurring annually on 17 March.

St. Patrick features in many stories in the Irish oral tradition and there are many customs connected with his feast day.
