I Have a Dream #MartinLutherKing

Our entry today commemorates the birth of Martin Luther King, a prominent leader of the civil rights movement, on this day in 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Ginger. A grammar checker

Ginger is a grammar checker that edits and displays errors as the text is written. It also provides guidance on other issues such as punctuation and sentence structure, has a dictionary to expand the vocabulary and a text reader that is very helpful to improve listening skills. 

It can be used free of charge by adding it to Google Chrome or by subscribing to one of its plans for further customization.

Storybird

Storybird is a cool educational online platform for children from age 3 to 14+, parents and teachers. It offers short, art-inspired stories that are curiously fun to make, share, and read. Students can express themselves and develop creatively their writing skills

Lit2Go #literature #audiobooks

Lit2Go is a free online collection of public domain fiction, poetry, and nonfiction audiobooks in MP3 format . An abstract, citation, playing time, and word count are given for each of the passages.

Many of the passages also have a related reading strategy identified. Each reading passage can also be downloaded as a PDF and printed for use as a read-along or as supplemental reading material for your classroom. 

Stories can be searched by author, book, genre, collection, and readability.
