What Works Best?

"What Works Best" is a suite of resources developed by the Centre for Education Statistics and Evaluation (CESE) for the NSW Department of Education in Australia that outlines the most effective, evidence-based practices for improving student learning and wellbeing.

The resources succinctly describe 8 core themes that research consistently shows make a difference to student outcomes:

High expectations

Explicit teaching

Effective feedback

Using data to inform practice

Assessment

Classroom management

Wellbeing

Collaboration

"What Works Best" translates the latest research into practical guides and illustrations to support teachers and school leaders as they reflect on and improve their instructional practice.

LGBTIQA+ Multilingual Terminology

Monolingual, bilingual and multilingual terminology to authentically represent the identities of LGBTIQA+ community members in English, Arabic, Chinese (simplified), Chinese (traditional), Korean, Spanish, Thai and Vietnamese.

This repository is the result of an RMIT research project which was proudly sponsored by the City of Melbourne. Its aim is to develop multilingual LGBTIQA+ terminology resources which can be used by members of ethnic communities to facilitate self-expression and foster respect and inclusivity.

Count Me In Too

Count Me In Too is an Australian program developed to support the effective teaching of mathematics in years K-6. The program melds findings from research about how children learn mathematics, with research on effective professional development.

Count Me In Too uses a team-based approach to professional development with a focus on practice in the classroom. It started with a sole focus on number learning, but it has expanded into other aspects of mathematics learning, such as measurement and geometry.

Included in the program there are sections for teachers, parents and children.
