School Radio

Podcasts, downloads, audio, video clips and learning resources for primary schools. Most programmes from School Radio are available as 'podcasts'. This means they are available to download in mp3 format, currently for a minimum of 60 days following transmission. 

Teacher's Notes are also available as pdf files to support most programmes. They are added throughout the year to coincide with transmission times.

6 Minute English

BBC Learning English, as part of the BBC World Service, has been teaching English since 1943, offering free audio, video and text materials to learners around the world.

One of the resources provided by BBC Learning English is 6 Minute English, a free tool for learners interested in improving their English listening skills. Audios and texts can be downloaded.

This weekly podcast is published every Thursday. Useful If you don’t feel ready to listen to a full radio program for native English speakers.

BBC School Radio

BBC School Radio is the audio division of BBC Schools, the educational division of the BBC. 

It offers audio and video teaching resources for KS1 and KS2 primary school curriculum subjects including teacher's notes for lesson plans available online via the website for most series and simple to print or download as PDF files. Its content is divided into 8 subjects: Early Learning, History, PSHE- Citizenship, Mathematics, Collective Worship, Music, Dance and English.

VOA Special English

The Special English Web site is an excellent tool to practice and improve your American English.
VOA Special English radio programs are broadcast every day of the year on the VOA network. Each broadcast starts with world news, followed by a short feature report and a 15 minute feature.
Throughout this site you will find radio scripts from these feature programs and the matching audio file of the text as it was delivered on the radio. We also offer both RealAudio and MP3 downloadable audio files that you can save and play over and over again.
