Embracing Language Diversity in Your Classroom - 2021 Edition

The aim of the “Language-aware teacher” MOOC is to enhance teachers’ awareness about the language competences of their students and how to benefit from them as well as to provide them with different tools and resources to support them to deliver curricular subjects in different languages.

Wednesday, 27 October 2021

Duration

The course lasts for 5,5 weeks: during the first four weeks, one new module opens every Monday. The deadline for the final assignment is Wednesday, 27 October.

The estimated workload is 4-5 hours per week, with a total of approximately 25 hours for the completion of the course.

Target audience

This course is meant for primary and secondary school teachers and teacher trainers from Europe and beyond. The course also aims at teachers who work in bilingual and CLIL contexts (schools) regardless of the subject they usually teach.

Certification

You will receive a digital course badge and a course certificate if you complete the full course: this means you have to visit all sections and complete the final peer assessment activity before the deadline.

MOOC English for the Workplace by #FutureLearn

This course is aimed at non-native English speakers who have studied English to at least pre-intermediate level (approximately A2 on the CEFR). 

If you are interested in developing English language skills for employability and workplace contexts, you can join free and you will geta access to the course for 6 weeks.

MOOC Open eTwinning

Today, May 5 registration for this new 5-unit MOOC on eTwinning, the first offered in English by INTEF, is officially open.

The eTwinning action, launched in January 2005, is an initiative of the European Commission that promotes school collaboration in Europe through the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) by providing support, tools and services for schools.

The MOOC concludes on June 29. All the participants who complete it succesfully will be issued a digital badge that can be stored in EducaLAB's backpack.

Understanding Language: Learning and Teaching #MOOC

Free online course developed by the University of Southampton and the British Council. The course takes place over four weeks and explores second language learning. It considers language classrooms and how teaching affects language learning. Also, it looks at the use of technology in teaching, and its benefits and challenges for language learning.

No prior knowledge is required to take part in the course.
