Created by David Lynam in 2009, Flashcard Stash (originally WordStash) allows you to create and customize your own digital flashcards. You can easily add images to your flashcards from Wikipedia and Flickr.

Flashcard Stash is built on top of a dictionary and contains over 200,000 English words and phrases. This helps when creating vocabulary flashcards by allowing you to select existing definitions.

Brainscape

Brainscape, founded by Andrew Cohen in 2010, is a website and mobile application that allows students and teachers to create, upload electronic flashcards, and to find flashcards created by other users around the world.

Flashcards are stored in the cloud and can be shared.
