Interactive Periodic Table of the Elements, in Pictures and Words

Periodic Table of the Elements for elementary, middle, and high schools students on an interactive web page by Keith Enevoldsen.

It includes the element's name, symbol, and atomic number. Each element box has a drawing of one of the element's main human uses or natural occurrences. The table is color-coded to show the chemical groupings. Small symbols pack in additional information: solid/liquid/gas, color of element, common in the human body, common in the earth's crust, magnetic metals, noble metals, radioactive, and rare or never found in nature. It offers textual descriptions and information about atomic structure, chemical bonding and radioactivity. (source Interactive Periodic Table of the Elements, in Pictures and Words).

The Periodic Table of the Elements, in Pictures and Words

Created by Keith Enevoldsen, a software engineer at Boeing, this interactive Periodic Table of Elements shows the name, symbol, and atomic number of each element. It also illustrates the way in which we daily use, or come into contact with each element.

A very interesting resource for chemistry teachers and students.

ChemCollective

The ChemCollective is a collection of virtual labs, scenario-based learning activities, tutorials, and concept tests. Teachers can use our content for pre-labs, for alternatives to textbook homework, and for in-class activities for individuals or teams. Students can review and learn chemistry concepts using our virtual labs, simulations, and tutorials.

The ChemCollective is organized by a group of faculty and staff at Carnegie Mellon who are interested in using, assessing, and creating engaging online activities for chemistry education.
